Occupational Noise Assessments
Your workplace may need regular noise assessments to comply with the New South Wales regulations. The New South Wales Work Health and Safety Act 2011 No 10 and the Work Health and Safety Regulation (2025) set an eight-hour energy average (LAeq 8hr.) limit of 85 dBA and a peak noise exposure level limit of 140 dB(C). An employer must ensure that appropriate control measures are taken if a person is exposed to noise levels exceeding either of these limits.
The business must also provide personal protective equipment as a control measure and organise audiometric testing for the worker
